SYNOPSIS about PAYAL ROHATGI CAREER details as of SEPTEMBER 2007


PAYAL ROHATGI , a computer engineer by degree started her modeling career by FEMINA MISS INDIA 2000 paegent.. She stood 9th in the paegent as she attributes her coming from a small town Ahmedabad to her being not so groomed at the time of the paegent to win it…)

But after the paegent the lady who comes from a middle class family in Ahmedabad shifted her base to Mumbai and start doing lot of prestigious advertisements like Dabur, Jaguar Bath Panel, Nescafe, etc…with reputed names in the industry ..

Soon she acted in her 1st Bollywood film YEH KYA HO RAHA HAI , produced by Harry Baweja, directed by Hansal Mehta..she played one of the lead female characters in the film as was nominated in STARDUST YOUNG ACHEIVERS AWARD – NEW MENACE category that year..

After that she did a couple of films like PLAN , RAKTH, POLICE FORCE as an actress but somehow she was lost in the already established starcast of these films..

Then the lady acted in TAUBA TAUBA in 2004 in the year where BOLD, SMALL films were made and accepted by audiences .. She played the heroine.. The script was good and the film did reasonably well too.. But payal till date thinks “ After Tauba Tauba I did a couple of more films on the same lines but did not realize the importance of SETUPS , and my DIRECTOR .. As an actor I gave my 100% to all the films in that period but I knew I had to get out of this sleazy slot if I wanted to last and get the respectability of an actress..”

Then came 36 CHINA TOWN with MUKTA ARTS banner which was directed by ABASS MUSTAN in 2005 end where she was offered a role opposite Paresh Rawalji but it was a murder mystery with lot of senior stars like Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, and Akshaye Khanna..
She was appreciated for her acting but critics still thought she looked too HARD, too LOUD to be a lead heroine in PROPER COMMERCIAL CINEMA.

Then came an ITEM SONG in MADHUR BHANDARKAR film CORPORATE 2006 and the song “O SIKANDER “ became a big hit in that year due to which she started doing a lot of shows, establishing her BRAND all over..

Now its PRIYADARSHAN film DHOL where v hear she plays a good role ( infact a 2nd lead ) role .. the film is on release on September 21st 2007..She is already part of promotional campaigns from start of the film which establishes her creditability ..

PAYAL ROHATGI has infact come a long way in her BOLLYWOOD career as an actress..
DHOL has her with her age group stars like Tushar kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Khemmu, and Tanushree Dutta.. She plays a Cabaret Singer in the film..But this time payal assures us that v wont be seeing that Loud makeup, garish clothes complimenting her but a NEW LOOK.. This LOOK is more SOFT, more feminine, more of a A Grade heroine .. She has been consistent in her interviews saying that PRIYAN sir wanted her to look as she looked in real life on reel too..

This is about her LOOK getting sorted which v see from her NEW PRETTY pictures splashed all over media these days but v still wonder about her ACTING skills.. But lets give the lady credit during her stint with SMALL films as a LEAD, the lady carried entire fims on her shoulders… Also CORPORATE role gave an impression that she can act as it was a difficult role to portary.. Not to forget her SPECIAL APPEARANCE opposite RITESH DESHMUKH in Sajid Nadiadwala film HEYY BABYY which released on august 24th 2007 where everyone was surprised to see her as this time she kept quiet so noone was expecting her and all everyone said that she could act and it was a good job. J

Talking about DHOL as this is PAYAL ROHATGI’s only proper film release this year 2007( the lady sat at home but waited as earlier with a single good film of hers on release one of the earlier small film producers would release her film where she must have done 1 scene and all her efforts would go waste).. The promos of this film are on air.. She has a solo song in the film “ DIL DIYA DIL DIYA RE” which is going on air soon and it’s a good role v hear where our lady will portray all shades of an actress hopefully.. It’s genre is comedy so v don’t know the story much but it looks interesting with priyadarshan recipe to mark its success..

INFORMATION ABOUT DHOL:
Payal rohatgi cant drive her car so v heard while shooting the climax scene they had to use a body double though payal wanted to drive car herself and not cause stress to her director .. well apparently the lady has lost 2 of her mamaji’s to car accident and her mom does not let her drive her own car.. but being a professional payal wanted to be causing as less stress to her director.. well all’s well as this ended up being the most funniest scene of the film..:)J

Very disciplined sets of DHOL as priyan sir is very punctual and so was the cast and crew of DHOL.. This film is produced by PERCEPT PICTURE COMPANY who had also produced CORPORATE so again our lady is happy as she is in professional corporate hands..

And above all v see innonence back on PAYAL ROHATGI’s face in the promo’s that show of her coming out of the water in a classy sexy black one piece swimwear.. She has lost lots of weight and is looking awesome … well PAYAL always had a great body and now with innocence coming back to her face v know v have a sure winner …J
